Because of extremely dry conditions, Douglas County has quickly moved from a Stage 1 fire ban to a Stage 2 fire ban. Fireworks shows have been canceled in Parker and throughout the county. The Douglas County Sheriff’s office issued a Stage 1 Fire Ban on June 29th, which means no open fires and no fireworks. We realize this is a disappointment given the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, but we urge all neighbors to refrain from fireworks and open fires this holiday weekend.
