South Metro Fire Rescue will have a team of assessors out in our neighborhood on Tuesday, August 19th, 2025, from 08:00 am to 12:00 pm. During this time, South Metro staff members will visit homes that have signed up to complete a free home ignition zone assessment. A home ignition zone assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of your house and landscape’s vulnerability to wildfire and ember ignition. The team of assessors will review defensible space and home hardening principles, providing you with specific recommendations tailored to your property.

Please note assessments typically take 45 to 60 minutes, and a homeowner must be present during the walk-through. The assessors will do their best to arrive at your home at the beginning of the one-hour time slot you have signed up for, but they may not arrive at your property at the exact start time (depending on whether their previous assessment runs a little over or under an hour).
