For those who were unable to attend the annual meeting yesterday evening, here’s a brief summary (formal minutes will follow after approval by the Board).
- Treasurer Monte Diede reported that the civic association has a little over $6000 in the bank, up 13% over last year. Monte also collected dues from a number of residents – thanks to everyone who contributed!
- There were a few questions about Douglas County’s process for paving the remaining gravel roads (Antelope, Cottontail, Deer, Ponderosa) this year. We’ll get answers from the county and report back.
- Kim Diede shared what she has learned about potential development of a 40-acre parcel just east of Cottontail and Deer. This is something we’ll keep a close eye on, but no immediate action is required.
- Chuck, Dustin, and Ed have generously offered to host another “Dumpster Day” in late May. Details to follow.
- Chuck has also volunteered to host a summer BBQ at his place, slated for June 21.
- Additional topics included Pine Drive traffic and construction, turnaround activity on Homestead Road, the potential for fiber optic Internet access in the neighborhood, etc. Expect more information about these topics in the coming months.
- HHCA president Nathanael Koch announced that he is retiring from the position. Many thanks to Nathanael for his service to our neighborhood!!
- Peter Saint-Andre was nominated as president for 2025-2026 and agreed to serve. Monte, Nathanael, and Kelly Ellingson volunteered to be on the board but we are still recruiting board members, so reach out if you have an interest.
