Road Paving Opportunity

Earlier this year, Douglas County initiated a new High Priority Gravel Road Paving Program. Unlike in past years, gravel roads accepted into this program will be paved free of charge to residents, as has recently happened in Ponderosa Hills. Several of your neighbors have already requested that Antelope Lane, Cottontail Lane, Deer Lane, and Ponderosa Lane be considered for this program. Consistent with the program policy, actual acceptance into the program depends on a number of factors. Among other things, at least 51% of residents on each road will need to indicate support for paving when they are formally surveyed for their opinions by the county sometime this fall. The county will also complete a cost analysis and budget review before deciding to pave a particular road. Because this is a great opportunity to get our roads paved (subject to majority support by residents), several people have stepped up to coordinate these efforts and answer any questions residents may have. Monte and Kim Diede are the coordinators for Deer Lane and Cottontail Lane, and Peter Saint-Andre and Elisa George are the coordinators for Ponderosa Lane. Expect further outreach by these folks and other neighbors as we move forward. UPDATE: See also the Frequently Asked Questions at https://hoa80138.org/paving-faq/ for more details.
