On October 3rd, 2023, Douglas County Sheriff Darren Weekly and Town of Parker Chief of Police Jim Tsurapas held a well-attended town hall at the PACE Center. The topics of discussion included crime statistics and trends (especially shoplifting and car thefts), traffic enforcement, homelessness and the work of the HEART team, coordination efforts between the town and the county, the impact of state legislation on local law enforcement, and the forthcoming 23rd judicial district that will cover Douglas, Elbert, and Lincoln counties starting in 2025.
